Tirana for a day — museums, cafés, the city. The Adriatic coast when you feel like the sea. Gramsh and Lake Banja when you want scenery and quiet. Two weeks means you do all of that without rushing and still find something else. Albania is surprisingly varied for a small country — sea, lake, mountains, UNESCO cities, wine, food, everyday life. All within day-trip distance from Elbasan.

On a short visit you see the sights, eat in a few restaurants and leave. On a longer stay you start to understand where you are. Elbasan is not a tourist destination in the way coastal cities are. It is a functioning Albanian city with its own rhythm, its own cafés, its own market. You only learn that after a few days.

A week gives you time to make the Berat day trip unhurried, visit Lake Ohrid, try several local restaurants, and still spend a few days just in the city without a schedule. Two weeks gives more. Some guests return. That says something.

The Apartment for a Longer Stay

The apartment is 55.8 m² and it was built for extended stays. Separate bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom and balcony. Three beds if needed. Washer-dryer, dishwasher, full kitchen, Daikin climate control throughout. You can cook, work, do laundry, grill on the balcony and leave your things unpacked. That is the point.

The kitchen is designed for real cooking — electric hob and oven, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, Marttiini Professional knives. Salt, pepper, coffee and tea are stocked as standard. If any basic item is missing, let us know.

Work and Internet

80 Mbps wired LAN in the bedroom, WiFi throughout. Windows PC and printer available. Suitable for remote workers and digital nomads. Fast enough for video calls and normal office work.

On a multi-week stay, combining work and travel comes naturally. Days can be split — morning work, afternoon in the city or on a day trip. The apartment makes this possible without compromising either.

Pricing

Prices are on the homepage. Longer stays are built from 7 and 14-night packages. No added fees, no surprises. Payment is in cash on arrival, after you have seen the apartment and approved it. If it does not meet your expectations, you leave without charge.

Elbasan as a Base

Tirana is 20 minutes by car. Berat is an hour and twenty minutes away. The Adriatic coast is just over an hour. Lake Ohrid is about an hour and a half. With a week or more you have time to do these trips properly rather than rushing through them.

Day trips with a private driver can be arranged — destinations and schedule are agreed on the ground, not in advance. Elbasan is well positioned — you are not tied to one direction.

Albania is a varied country. In one stay you can see a UNESCO city, the Adriatic coast, mountain scenery and a lake. All are within day-trip distance. A longer stay means you actually see them rather than just passing through.

Food and Daily Life

Elbasan has a rich food culture. Tave Kosi — Albania's national dish — originates from Elbasan. Bugaçe is the local breakfast pastry. The daily market is within walking distance. Restaurants are good and inexpensive. On a longer stay you find your own favourites rather than eating wherever you happen to end up.

The apartment has a full kitchen if you want to cook. Local markets sell fresh vegetables, fruit, cheese and olives. Local beer is inexpensive and good. Raki is offered as a gesture of hospitality — accept it.

End-of-stay cleaning is included. An additional clean during a longer stay is available as an extra service at our standard rate. Bed linen and towels are included. Gas grill, grill gas, cleaning products and basic kitchen supplies are all included in the price.

Entry is by key code — no physical key. The code is provided after payment. Yale Home app is an alternative in case of issues. No check-in or check-out times. The apartment is yours around the clock for the full duration of your stay.

What a Longer Stay Actually Means

On a short holiday every day is planned in advance. The fear of missing something drives the schedule. On a longer stay that disappears. You can decide in the morning where you are going — or not go anywhere. That is a different way to travel.

Elbasan works well for this because it does not wear out. The city has its own life that does not depend on tourists. Cafés are full of locals. The market runs on its own logic. Restaurants serve the people who live here. You are a guest in that picture but not an intrusion — that is different from a tourist destination built around you.

Weather and Seasons

Elbasan is inland and the climate reflects that. Summer is hot — the Daikin heat pumps handle it inside the apartment. Spring and autumn are the most comfortable times to move around — warm days, cool evenings, less traffic. Winter is mild compared to Northern Europe but the mountains can have snow. Season matters for day trips — the coast is best from May to September, the mountains work year round, the lakes are at their most beautiful in spring and autumn.
